AG ADVENTURE RACE – HEALTH, SAFETY & LIABILITY POLICY

The AG Adventure Race is designed to challenge participants physically, mentally, and emotionally through diverse tasks and terrains. To ensure the safety and well-being of all contestants, crew members, and staff, this Health, Safety & Liability Policy establishes essential guidelines and participant responsibilities before, during, and after the competition. 

Acknowledgment of Risks

Participation in the AG Adventure Race involves inherent risks, including but not limited to physical exertion, outdoor conditions, travel hazards, and unexpected challenges. 

By registering for the Race, participants acknowledge that: 

  • They are voluntarily participating at their own risk.
  • They understand the nature of the competition and accept full responsibility for any potential injury, fatigue, illness, or emotional stress that may occur.
  • They will comply with all race rules, instructions, and safety guidelines issued by organizers and safety officers.
  • All contestants must be in good physical and mental health before participating.
  • Participants may be required to submit a medical fitness certificate from a licensed healthcare provider.
  • The Organizer reserves the right to deny or revoke participation if a contestant is deemed medically unfit or poses a risk to themselves or others.
  • Any pre-existing medical conditions must be disclosed at the time of registration. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
  • Trained medical and safety personnel will be present at all race locations and checkpoints.
  • Emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and first-aid assistance, are established to ensure prompt medical care if needed.
  • Contestants must immediately notify race officials of any injury, discomfort, or unsafe condition during the competition.
  • Participants are required to follow all local safety regulations and cooperate fully with on-site medical and security teams.

  • By participating in the AG Adventure Race, each contestant agrees to the following: 

    • I hereby release, waive, and hold harmless AG Adventure Race, its organizers, sponsors, partners, affiliates, employees, and volunteers from any and all claims, demands, damages, or liabilities that may arise from my participation in the event.
    • I understand that AG Adventure Race is not responsible for any personal injury, loss, theft, or property damage incurred during or as a result of the competition.
    • I agree to indemnify and defend AG Adventure Race and its affiliates against any claims made by third parties in connection with my conduct or actions during the event.
    • This waiver applies to all forms of participation, including pre-race training, official events, and post-race activities.
  • • All contestants must act responsibly, show respect to teammates, competitors, officials, and the environment.
    • Any form of reckless behavior, substance use, or disobedience to safety protocols may result in immediate disqualification.
    • Participants must wear protective gear or equipment where required and adhere to route-specific safety instructions.

  • This policy is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute or claim arising from health, safety, or liability issues shall be resolved through mediation or arbitration before seeking legal recourse.
